Hi, how are you? Well as I sit here and look out of the window I don’t see a cloud in the sky, a rare sight for this summer! Normally throughout the summer my husband Steve, my 4 year old daughter Megan and myself have dinner on the patio most evenings - this year we have done that twice, and one of those occasions was in May! There probably isn’t much point in hoping for some more sun for this summer so I think that we all need to keep our fingers crossed for next year, failing that move to a hotter country! Which you may have already done or be thinking of doing. How to Get Good Exchange Rates NOW without paying for it (now)...When we discuss with our clients what their currency requirements are they often think they only can buy close to the day they will need the currency. If they buy beforehand they think they will either have to open their own bank account into which to transfer the Euros (or CY£'s or US$'s or other) or the funds will sit with us. This thought process is incorrect in a number of ways and may well mean they miss out on better rates and saving money. Buying at the right time really can save you £’000’s... And the right time might be well before you actually need the money. In the industry we have a product called a "forward" contract which means that a client can secure the exchange rate of their preference as and when it presents itself. It works very simply. If you know that you require is, say, €100,000 in two months time and your desired exchange rate is €1.47/£1 then simply tell us. We will then discuss if we think the rate is achievable and watch the market for you by setting you up on our Smart Rate Watch system. If in a weeks time we were, say, able to achieve that exchange rate for you we will give you a ring and, if still required, agree to deliver to you €100,000 at a rate of €1.47/£1 at an agreed date in the future. We will require a deposit of up to only 10% of the total amount to secure this agreed exchange rate. This means that you will still have the remaining 90% (or more) sitting in your bank account or building society earning interest. This means that you will have secured the exchange rate of your preference. The cost is fixed. You are not left open to the vagaries of the market place, the stress that you may have to find further sterling is removed and you can sleep at night. The Smart BlogI mentioned this in my last newsletter and thought it would be good to highlight our blogs again. Have you heard about Blogs? Blogs are ‘journals’ or spaces on the Internet where you can write information, post pictures or have videos and all sorts. They’re a way for anyone to have their own space on the Internet. We’ve decided to give it a go and, although we’ve published our daily rates on a blog for ages, we’ve just created three new weekly blogs. Perhaps you could look at one that interests you and let us know what you think?
The daily currency rates are updated at some point every morning - except on Fridays. Friday is when Charles sends out his weekly rate and comment list via eMail. And the weekly rates and comments are updated every Sunday or Monday depending on how ambitious Charles is!
