As well as monthly and yearly inflation, core consumer price inflation for the US will also be released today.
Core inflation, excludes the more volatile items such as food and energy. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics , the rate edged down to 5.5% in April 2023, as expected, from 5.6% the month before. This afternoon, the rate is forecast to fall to 5.4%.
