One way to deal with an “unsolvable” problem is to ignore it as long as possible. As other entirely new and different problems arise and are fixed, when you come to look at your original problem a few months down the line it can look considerably easier to sort out.
Maybe that’s where we’re going with Brexit. At the end of a long hot summer of elections, new political parties and whatever else the world has waiting for us, maybe the Withdrawal Agreement will look a little more palatable before the next deadline on 31st October. Will Conservative and Labour Parties under attack by the Brexit Party and Change UK be quite so wedded to their “red lines”, or will they just “get on with it”, as much of the public appears to be asking?
Speaking to estate agents both in the UK and abroad this week, the evidence is that the property markets have picked up. People are indeed opting to “get on with it”, with a rush to look at new homes and long-delayed projects and get on with our lives.
That would certainly be our suggestion too, especially with property prices steadily on the rise throughout Europe. Every day delayed is seeing the price you’ll pay abroad rising, while UK savings continue to go almost nowhere.
You also have another six months to claim residency abroad.

One other thing. A survey last month from Spain Property Guides found that one in three property buyers say they don’t know enough about how to make a large currency transaction abroad.
Even worse, they don’t know the risk that exchange rate changes pose to their budget and the calamity that can befall them if the pound drops significantly during the buying process (as it has the last three years at this time of year).
As we are approaching the more sociable time of year, should you be speaking to a fellow overseas property buyer anywhere from Wimbledon to Goodwood, at a barbecue, picnic, cricket match or pub garden, you could be doing a friend an immense favour if you suggest using a property transaction specialist like us, rather than their high street bank.
