The first official day of autumn yesterday was a little grim, with rain sweeping in from the west and new Covid restrictions from Westminster. Sterling ended up roughly where it started but it was a choppy sort of day with short but sharp rises and falls.
There are warnings this morning about miles of lorries behind held up at Channel ports, while the rush from British passport holders to get residency in the EU by 31 December is starting to look like a stampede (Should you wish to move before then, do contact Property Guides, who can help you move in time).
We’re also getting enquiries about the news that some British banks will be closing the accounts of people who now live overseas full time. There are few details yet, including which banks and which countries are affected – and in any case the problems should be fixed if there is a trade deal – but do contact us if you would like to transfer your assets to an overseas bank account.
We are also in the last few days of our September promotion, whereby anyone who makes a trade in September of £1,000 or more (online or over the telephone) will be entered into a prize draw for £1,000 in Amazon vouchers. So that would be Christmas sorted out!
