Apart from Boris Johnson saying this weekend that “We can more than live without” a trade deal with the EU, following his talks with EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, we have heard very little from the current and final round of Brexit trade talks.
The negotiators are not the only ones keeping schtum, however. Schtum (from the German word for silent) is a phrase we borrowed from Europe, but the future of more tangible imports and exports will be in doubt if no deal is reached. Yet the entire front page of BBC News doesn’t have a word on a deal that will have deep implications for many Britons – including businesspeople, all their staff who work in businesses trading globally, and those who are buying a property or moving abroad.
The pound has held steady in the past week and starts close to where it was last Monday against EUR and USD. It will be a bumpy ride over the next couple of weeks, but you can of course secure today’s rate here, and speak to your trader on 020 8108 5337.
The weekend’s weather might have had you battening down the hatches for winter, but the fact is that you can still gain residency within the European Union before the transition period ends if you speak up and get a move on.
I would recommend Property Guides as the people to help you with that – although you don’t need to complete on a purchase abroad in time, you can rent to start off with. Contact Property Guides here, to do that.
