Making transfers online
If you decide that you want to manage your international transfers online, you can do so through our simple online portal. You can access this on-the-go, 24/7 and it allows you to secure the same rates and services you would over the phone. While it can be helpful to talk through your options with your trader – and you will always have that option – you might not want, or be able, to pick up the phone every time you need to transfer money.
Most of our clients are online and already using our portal to manage their transfers. The portal is a safe, secure and encrypted website, which allows you to trade wherever you are in the world. The portal can be accessed via mobile, tablet, laptop or on your PC.
How do I get set up?
Are you an existing client?
If you already have an account with Smart Currency Exchange accessing the online portal is easy. Simply call your trader on 020 7898 0541. They will get you up and running, walk you through how everything works and explain the portal’s features. If you have any questions, now or in the future, your trader is always here.
If you’re not yet a client…
Before you can access the portal you will need to set up an account with Smart Currency Exchange. Simply fill in our application form and you will be assigned a dedicated trader who will be set you up with access to make payments online, as well as advise on the best services for you and explain how to use the online portal effectively.

How does the online portal help me manage my payments?
Whether you need to make multiple payments to multiple currencies day in, day out, or you’re in the process of buying overseas, our portal lets you manage your transfers yourself.
The portal removes the need to speak to your trader, which is a valuable time saving tool and gives you complete control over every transaction. You can view your account balances, access your previous transaction history, and set up new beneficiaries as required. The portal also grants you access to the same range of useful services and exchange rates offered over the phone.
You can schedule regular payments with a Regular Payment Plan (RPP), secure a rate for a year via a Forward Contract and buy currency on the spot, for the best rate available, via a Spot Contract.
Online account security & Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-factor authentication is a simple process that adds an extra layer of protection to your online accounts by verifying that it is actually you that is logging in. There are lots of different methods for authentication, and you have likely come across them lots of times in your every day life.
Websites and apps that handle your money – like your online/mobile banking may ask for a unique code, sent to you via SMS when you log in. Some apps may verify or “remember” a mobile device, and others may ask you to provide a fingerprint or facial recognition scan each time you log in.
Any company that handles your money and is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority are required by law to protect customers and verify the identity of the end user using strong customer authentication in accordance with the Payment Services Regulations 2017.
This process stops unwanted users accessing your information, and allows us to notify you when we notice unusual behaviour (someone logging in from a high risk country, for example).
